Comparison of Outcomes in Critically Ill Patients Installed with Mechanical Ventilation Performed Early and Late Tracheostomy at Dr. M. Djamil General Hospital Padang

Background: Tracheostomy is an alternative that widely used as airway access after the use of a ventilator in care critically ill patients. Several factors are known to influence outcome patients undergoing tracheostomy. This study aimed compare outcomes installed with mechanical ventilation performed early and late tracheostomy Dr. M Djamil General Hospital, Padang, Indonesia.
 Methods: was analytical observational cross-sectional approach. A total 97 research subjects participated this study. Data analysis carried out help SPSS software univariate bivariate manner between time (early late) patient form death length stay.
 Results: There statistical difference mortality rate tracheostomy, p = 0.014. stay intensive unit 0.000.
 Conclusion: differences who have at M. Hospital Indonesia.
